the Friends of the Harte Trail will be planting June 6th , 2020 on International Trails Day, and is looking for volunteers to assist with our FIFTH Tree Plant we will meet just past Van Roon Gardens on the Western most part of the Harte Trail. (between Van Roon Garden and Dale). Map below.

how it works…
Shortly after 10am, the City Naturalist Department will perform demonstration on how to plant, what to look for, how to care for the trees lots of cool tips, quick safety message from the Friend of the Harte Trail and we are off.
Following this volunteers are invited to help plant the trees along the pathway. The Naturalist team will float around to assist and cheer us on, help is always there.
Tree locations are pre-determined, sitting in the pot right by its new home. And holes are pre AUGERED, no its not cheating, its an old rail bed. Yes we are fancy.
We will have shovels, gloves, tree cages and various hardware for our volunteers to use. However if you are partial to a certain spade, feel free to bring your own equipment no worries!
Light refreshments and some snacks will be provided.
Your presence would be most welcome. Kids love it. Great family event. and a free tree care, planting seminar. This is what to expect!
Location: Harte Trail at the Van Roon Garden
(Entrance at south end of Cullen Dr. and Bergman Cres.)
Walk, bike, jog, roll your way down the Trail to meet us, or various public street parking is available in the red boxes below, a short 100 yard walk from either location gets you to our tree plant.
